Hi...

Finally getting round to organizing my video files. I usually use Meta Z to tag my movies, but want to do the same with some tv series I ripped from dvd's.

Meta Z doesn't seem to work with TV shows no matter what I try, is there another program?

Also is there a way to organize a series of Movies into groups, like Tv episodes?

Like all the Marvel movies, or all the James Bond Movies. Like say a box set. I have a bunch of video like Rifftrax's that I'd like to organize and not have in a list of 100 movies.

What do you mean it "doesn't seem to work?" I use Meta Z on series episodes all the time and it works fine. Describe what your goal is, what you are doing with Meta Z and the unexpected outcome. You're probably just not inputting the correct metadata.

As to the Movies question, you can't get them to behave exactly like a TV Series, but for sorting purposes I generally use the Sort Name field. For example, a movie series like Planet of the Apes I'll put PotA 1968, PotA 1970, etc. in the Sort Name field of the appropriate movie. That will order them correctly in iTunes and in the Computer section on Apple TV. It is not possible to edit metadata for purchased videos in the cloud.

I was doing something wrong, I think the video type was staying as a movie. I read where changing the tags in iTunes is only good for iTunes, so I started entering the episode info, the suddenly it was finding the tv episode data.

I still have a lot to figure out. Ill have to play around with the sort name field now, but I have a big rifftrax collection, and looking for a way to organize them.

That would do it. :)

After you change the tags in Meta Z you'll generally need to do a Get Info on the videos in iTunes to get the app to read the new metadata. Otherwise it sounds like yo've got it figured out.
