Just dug out an old 1st generation iPad I have running iOS 4.3.5 and it's actually running pretty great! It's crazy how slow this device got on iOS 5.1.1, it turned pretty unusable. I forgot well it handled it's first major update! Anyone else still using their 1st gens from time to time to keep the battery in ok health? It's such a classic design with it's heft but truly feels so well crafted.

I had OG iPad while ago and used the iOS 4 and iOS 5. I would stay with iOS 4. IOS 5 just killed the OG iPad.

The reason is that the iPad 1 only had 256MB RAM. It is not well designed for future proof at all.
