I live in California and I have some questions in regards to repair iPhone 2G.

If I tell them I need a battery replacement, will they ship me a new one? My iPhone 2G's back is full of scratches.... What it takes to get a replacement phone?

I purchased the 2G in Hong Kong, during business trip. Will they accept it?

I believe Apple stopped servicing the original Iphone last year. The furthest back they go now is the iPhone 3G.

Wasn't 100% sure. Apple's site still reads as if they are still doing it. Thought I'd post it just in case. I was surprised to see it myself.

Wow, 200 to replace the battery on an iPhone 4. I can do it in 2 minutes and for $5.00. Prices have gone up...of course they have.

All you can do is call Apple and ask. California has some odd laws about repairs that may mean the information you get on the forum here won't be accurate.
