original Leather case or silicon case? and why

i had 3 leather cases and a silicon case with my previous iPhones .no other brands
bottom side was open and it had problems. new cases are closed.
or do you suggest other brands as RhinoShield?

I go the Cyprus Green silicone case and Baltic blue leather case for my iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The silicone case provides a better grip.

Both are good though.

I have both leather and silicone. Silicone is definitely thicker and heavier than the leather. I prefer the leather. It wont last as long but it looks nicer

Leather is my vote. Tried both and agree the silicone feels bigger in hand and after a few days the leather seems more grippy to me, IMO.

with the leather there. s a big and only one hole. with the silicone there are a lot of little holes.

I think these little holes with silicone case may reduce sound quality. what do you think

id have to say, i liked silicone the best. it wouldve been the leather case if it had a lip around the edges (maybe mine was defective but it looked like it doesnt really secure the phone tightly), but the phone felt more secure and snug in the silicone. Rhinoshield material scratched the sides of my phone and it adds bulk to the width of the phone and it was too slippery - it wasnt comfortable to hold.

Your Rhinoshield scratched the stainless steel band? Yikes, makes me nervous about the Crashguard NX bumper I ordered then...

very fine micro scratches all over. you dont really see it unless you look. it was a tight fit and idk the material felt hard and plastic-y. it looks like the bumper ones are softer material tho so you should be safe lol and scratches are barely noticable

Out of the box, the silicone has the best grip. After 2 weeks, the leather has very good grip. Both will last a long time with normal usage. The sound is not impeded with the leather or silicone case cut outs.

have the black leather and the plum silicone. I’m surprised to say I prefer the silicone. Now it’s worth mentioning that I just got the silicone, whereas I had the leather for about a week and a half, but I do prefer it so far.

I have both and I have decided on the leather. I prefer the look and the texture of the leather. Also the leather (in the past version) becomes more tactile as it ages. The silicon is a nice alternative but leather for me.

I returned my leather case yesterday due to the fact that all dirt and particles got stuck on it and got a silicone case instead. The feel when taking it in/out of a jeans pocket is almost the same. No friction at least.

I like both the leather and silicone. This year I promised I wouldn’t buy a bunch of cases when I usually use the same one all the time. I love the feel of the silicone, especially once it gets “broken in”. So I bought the white Apple silicone and another 3rd party silicone in a lavender color. I like the Apple one best.

Yes a very tiny raised lip. Not enough to make it bulky. The Apple case always fits and buttons work perfectly. At least that’s been my experience.

My leather one is going back to Apple and I’m sticking with the silicone one for my main case. I have a magsafe wallet waiting at the Apple store, if I like it then that’s my wallet solution. If not I’ll get some kind of folio for outside and silicone for inside and casual outdoor stuff.

Does the silicone attract dirt? My previous iPhone silicone case from Apple would attract lint and dirt like crazy! It looks dirty all the time. You have to wipe clean constantly.

I always get the white silicone. It does attract dust but cleans right up. I’ve found that once it gets worn a bit and “broken in”, it doesn’t attract dust as much. It won’t look any different but feels different - almost softer if you can imagine that.

But I can say that this one which I’ve been using since Oct. 23rd has not gotten that “broken in” feel yet.

I love my black 12 Pro Max silicone case. I actually prefer the closed bottom lip now. Much better than the cheap models on Amazon I tried. Still not worth $50.

Also excited to use it with future MagSafe accessories. (Dash mount and home office charging stand.)

I have the leather on my 12PM only thing that I don’t like is the camera bump on the case now makes it difficult to charge on flat wireless charges or my desk charger

is the camera bump the same on the apple silicone case ?

I have the Apple leather case on my Max and it does not work with my iOttie easy touch wireless charger ( dashboard ) If I take the case off, it starts to charge!
