I want to give my MacBook Air to my Mom but I need to restore the hard drive and I don't have the original install DVD. Is there anyway to do the restore without it?

I thought it came with a flash drive not a CD😕

Before 2010 they came with DVD's like normal Macs.

OP take it to the Apple store and ask them for a set. Or just use a Snow Leopard DVD and do a clean install.

Mac os Lion automatically creates a recovery partition after it's installed,
all you need to do now is restarting your air then press and hold option key,
select the recovery hd and it will take you to the same steps that you reinstall with a physical disc.
