Would there be a way to get the original, non ad infested you tube app on to an iOS 6 device?

There will be an app from Google, don't worry! It's better to do it this way because Google can update their app more often :)

HD with Ads vs. Blurry video with no ads....

Yeah I can take 15 secs of pain, sadly, I love HD too much.

The current youtube app is the best way to experience youtube on any mobile device. Apple did a truly remarkable job with it. I'm deeply concerned the Google app will be substandard at best.

You're [****] if you think the current YouTube app is usable in its current form.
The “current” YouTube app is significantly more usable than the mobile site that you are now forced to use on iOS 6, and I would put a lot of money on Google’s YouTube app not being any better, being filled with ads and visually cluttered.

If anything, it will probably just end up being a frame for the website just like the Gmail app is.

YouTube videos are HD, but not 1080p in the current app. I would much rather have native controls and not have to put up with intrusive advertising.

For whatever reason, Google decided that an HTML5 player with unreliable controls and lacking a fullscreen mode was somehow a good idea, and I would be surprised if their new app will be able to catch YouTube links from within other apps the way the iOS 5 app does.

It was also horrible to use. Massive buffering/loading issues.
Never had any problems here. In fact I have had far more trouble with videos not loading or buffering correctly ever since they redesigned the mobile site a few weeks ago.

Back to the question...as I really dislike the ads and am okay with The app as it stands. do you think there Will be a way to "port" Or get the original YouTube app on iOS 6?

I honestly don't know what native YouTube app you all have been using. It has few commenting features, is unintuitive, is slow, has low quality video etc. etc. It's awful. And the web app is actually good. Whatever app Google puts in the app store will be better than both.

MOD NOTE: Carry on without the name-calling please.

Direct personal insult of another forum member (e.g., "You are an idiot.") and other name-calling. Why? Because this isn't grade school.

No there isn't.

The thing is though, the old app was long overdue an update, which it never got.

I've been using You Tube via http://m.youtube.com/ in preparation of the You Tube app removal in iOS 6. And too be honest I find it massively better than using the app. It's possible to choose the video quality accessing You Tube via Safari. Also accessing You Tube via Safari, I've yet to see an ad.

I think with the removal of Maps and You Tube apps, it's going to mean that we are going to have these apps supplied again by Google and I expect that this will mean regular updates, something neither the Maps and You Tube apps had if my memory serves me correctly.

Google will not want to lose all the traffic that it will lose with the removal of the You Tube and Maps app on iOS.
