i am sorry to tell you kagi is not competing with google. Kagi pays Google and Bing to forwards the results to you, they just filter the SEO and ADS out of the results and re-rank the results to best match your search. If Google/Bing shuts down down, Kagi will shut down.

I think only partially true. Kagi does pull from Google and Bing but also other indexes including one they maintain:

Perhaps more accurate to say that if both Google and Bing shut down, Kagi's results would be limited (and possibly incomplete to the point of unreliable).

Thank you and appreciate the referrals to the less popular options. Back to Orion, all those are builtin choices for the default search engine.

P.S.Agree with you on Orion's performance with lots of tabs (among a few performance scaling problems). I recall it started out some years ago a bit better on this than the Safari at the time but now it needs work. Hopefully they can return to issues like these now that their 1.0 is out the door.
