Fonts on a Mac come from, and are stored in, many places. For example, fonts come from the System, Office, Adobe, printers, and other apps - and different for each version of the OS. In all likelihood it is "other apps" that has corrupted your fonts. That I have found, there's no quick fix.
If this problem plagued me, I would use EasyFind to locate all "fonts" and delete directories as necessary. But my expectation is this will be messy. Also, fonts are often cached, so you may need to reboot between deletions.
From a time perspective, it may be easier to do a clean install, and reinstall apps.

Have you tried rebuild font cache (using Onyx for example)? Hopefully, you dont need to reinstall OS.
