I am a Pro Tools HD user, and was previously on 10.5.4 running PT HD version 7.4.2. I upgraded to PT version 8 and it required 10.5.5, Digidesign specifically stated "If you're updating to 10.5.5, please use the Combo Updater" as found on this DUC forum page:
http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=233742.
I used the combo updater, and ever since then my system will not retain my Airport wireless password. Secondly it also defaults the systems clock to March 31, 1969. Third, it will not retain Set Date and Time Automatically. I have to reset that every time.
Has anyone else experienced this with using the combo updaters?
Is there is a fix (other than wiping my drive an re-installing everything fresh from 10.5.4, then using the Software Update feature to get me up to 10.5.5)?
Fixes I've tried:
-Booting from OS install disk and doing a Repair Disk to the drive (not the volume)-and no luck.
-I also updated to 10.5.6 using the Combo Updater (trusting that Digi's suggestion of this method was the best way) and again-no luck.
-Lastly I called Apple tech support and they weren't able to figure it out either.
I guess I'll just have to wait for 10.5.7 and do the update through Software Update and see if that cures it (whenever 10.5.7 is released). I am in the middle of tracking and don't have the time for a wipe-out and re-install.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Best Regards,
Ron
