OS 3.0 - Does tethering work on the original iPhone?

    I can't seem to get it working so i am wondering if like mms and a2dp apple have arbitrarily removed that feature?

    I wouldn't want to tether or EDGE - it'd be terribly slow.

    I suspect that it won't work for just that reason.

    I rarely have 3G coverage, but still have been tethering with PDANet since I got my iPhone (3G) on release day - it's still worth it.

    does it work using a jailbroken app or the 3.0 built in software?

    I've done it on both. 3.0 is better because you don't need to mess with wireless - but bluetooth doesn't work (on new macs) which is annoying, so you must have the cable with you.

    thats good to know, i will have to test that.

    I was under the impression it wouldnt work with the iPhone 2G

    Sorry - I forgot which thread I was in, I was talking about the 3G but using GPRS/Edge (not 3G). I don't see why it won't work on the 2G though.

    Thats cool....originally it was stated that it didnt work on the 2G iphone so i was curious if anyone and figured out how to enable it. Maybe someone else will chime in....
