Thanks for the links..

That confirms that the GM build is actually the real release version.. No point in installing it twice..

So this is the official 3.0 release right?

I downloaded the 3.0 beta 5 firmware and am running it but I think it is preventing me from getting the official 3.0 release (iTunes keeps saying that my firmware is the current version).

Are you sure you are running B5 not GM? What build # do you have?

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you still download and upgrade for free now that we've confirmed that the GM is indeed what Apple is releasing as the 3.0 final. Not going to post a link but iPod versions of 3.0 are floating around with the rest of the GM IPSW files out there.

I can't get this to decompress. And downloading on iTunes I keep getting an error about halfway through. Anyone know why? Thanks!

I downloaded but what file do I choose to restore to? None of them show up as valid iphone software files.
