This is a really stupid thing for me to ask but I can't figure it out,
I have a old Powermac Runnig OS 8.1 I have also installed OS 9.1
I like to run 8 to use my geoport modem so when I go between OS's I have to rename the OS 8 or 9 System folder and remove the finder. I was curios if their was a easeir way to do this?

Older Macs were not very forgiving about dual boot set ups. Two system folders on the same partition are NOT a good idea. If you are able, making 2 partitions, one for 9.1 the other for 8.x will work. And then you change between each partition when you need the modem.
But that could be a lot of work since you have to reformat to get 2 partitions.
It may be easier and cheaper to purchase a user serial modem for your Mac. They can be found on Ebay for like 5 bucks. Pllus, if memory serves me today, the geoport is stuck at 14 or 28.8 speeds, and you could get 56 9in theorey) with another modem. But you may need the geoport for other reasons (voicemail, etc) so that may not be an option.

Good lcuk.
