OS ML extremely s-l-o-w booting

from FW 800 external disk.
Having made a bootable copy to my external I wanted to test it. It took forever to load and run.
Why? Even with it not being an internal drive it should have gone faster than that!😕

How slow? The bandwidth of firewire is much smaller then the SATA controller that disks use so it will be slower.

It's relative but evidently, not fast enough. 😀 Hell, I boot in 15 seconds and consider that a long wait these days.

We are so spoiled. 🙁

Yes the external FW800 disk. I was checking it out in case my internal drive gets corrupted.
I thought that FW800 was the next fastest after Thunder...(?)
