OS restore/install on a mac with no DVD drive

Hello everyone,

My friend's MacBook pro has some OS issues...it never reaches the login screen, just stays on the apple logo forever. I put it into firewire mode and got all the data off and was gonna boot from the Mac OS X DVD and finish the job. Issue is that the DVD drive is broken...so I am somewhat out of luck....how would I go about this?

Use USB Flash Drive

Although I have SuperDrive, I use USB Drive
