Where are my Safari bookmarks? the upgrade ate 'em!!!!!!

:(

Seriously, I want them back. How could they do this to me?

Love the update.

Maybe it's my imagination, but everything seems faster, esp m' browser.:D

Just installing update now.

Just one question, since the three digits (10, 4, and 10) are NOT a decimal, could this be Apple's first palindromic release number since OS/X was released?

hehe...10.4.10... so this is leopard, no?

Seriously now. Just installed it, works ok, but no visible difference. I guess I should read what the update was about.

I have a C2D MB as well. Since 10.4.10, I have this problem all the time. What it is is: Normally, on battery power, when you don't play any sounds for say, 30 seconds, power management kicks in and turns off the speakers / audio circuitry. When it turns back on, it makes a tiny pop sound.

For some reason, in 10.4.10, it is disabling the speakers/audio after 30 seconds or so, on AC POWER... when it should leave it on all the time. This means when my computer is plugged into my speakers, I hear a pop noise all the time when people send IMs, etc that are around 30 seconds or more apart.

ANNOYING. I don't know what to do about it other than leave music playing all the time. I guess its time to reformat and install 10.4.9 :D
I'm on 10.4.9, external speakers, and ac power. I get the pop / whoosh sound when the audio starts up after it has been idle for a while.

Something about Bluetooth, but it still doesn't support A2DP so still crappy audio.

Also, something about USB external drive support and some people have had problems getting their external drives recognized. I checked mine and it seems to work fine.

Thanks, I was beginning to think I was going nuts. I remember that with 10.4.9 the volume in my MB increased (just one or two lines would suffice if I was in my room).
Now with 10.4.10 the max volume is the same. But 2 lines won't suffice, at least 6 lines are required to have the same volume as before.

Yes, a very welcome change. After the last update I had to
make millimetric adjustments at the lower end of the slider.
Now I can use the volume keys again to access reasonable
(i.e., not ear bursting) volumes. Good job, Apple.

windows tip

to reduce the number of clicks:

just click (not right-click) on the USB icon shown in the tray and choose your device from the sown list of USB devices. That's it, one click, maybe two.

My thumb drive's manual says that it must be designated as non-removable in order to work on XP (and I have verified that it doesn't work otherwise). This particular thumb drive is the only kind allowed where I work because of its particular encryption features (which I don't even use). When I pull it out without ejecting it, I get an error window warning me of possible data loss. To properly eject it, I count 6 clicks of the mouse.

To properly eject the same drive on my Mac is one mouse click and a single keystroke.

I've been running 10.4.10 on my SR MBP for several hours this evening. It works great! No problems. Like others have reported, I also had a double restart after install.

I Always Install The Combo To Be On The Safe Side

Should I install the 'patch' or the 'combo'?
I always install the combo just to make sure everything is covered. Others think it makes no difference. I do. Call it superstition or just plain old conservatism. I'd rather be safe than sorry something was overlooked due to a glitch in a previous update or a hidden correction in something from a previous version.

I was on 10.4.9 as well and my speakers would crack and go in and out during music and the aim sounds. I reformated my computer and just updated to 10.4.8 lol....no crackling at all, so I think im just gonna wait til Leopard comes out and see whats going on with that. Unless someone can confirm that the speakers problem is fixed in 10.4.10

I can't update...this hotel internet sucks....too slow, and if I download, it sucks up all my bandwidth.

Funny enough, I never had this issue on my iMac running 10.4.9. I just upgraded to 10.4.10 and now i get the popping in my speakers... and its driving me NUTS!!!! This is beyond annoying... please don't tell me I need to reformat just to fix this....

Anyone know a fix??

Then my friend you must not have been around during the GREAT 10.2.8 UPDATE...

Apple released that update and then a lot of people were left with $1000-$3000 paper weights on their desks and laps. What was it folks, 2 days later???? that Apple released Ver 2 or 10.2.8 to fix the pulled update.

Ahh, yes. I remember that. I don't even remember what my PowerBook was doing, but it was NOT good. Apple pulled it, then re-released it... and whoever had a WORKING computer didn't even want to install 10.2.8.1 (lol) because they were afraid it would make things even worse. :)

I don't think anybody had a pleasurable experience with the (first) 10.2.8.
