Heres the situation. I upgraded to 10.5 and wasnt happy... as an OS I was pleased with it, and it ran well on my G4 with the exception of the horrendous loss of wireless connection issue.

I understand that there is an update that allegedly addresses the wireless issue... my problem is that I have a 30 gig hardrive, am not willing to spend the money for a new harddrive for this iBook, and do not have the space to even get this update installed (almost 2 gigs) to see if it would solve the problem.

The iBook is basically a brick to me with 10.5 installed (I cant keep a wireless signal for more than a minute or two). So I decided to reformat and reinstall 10.4.

I hadnt considered it before, but all I have are the 10.4 discs that came with the iBook, and after reformatting Im getting the "This software cannot be installed on this compter" alert, which I think is due to the discs not being full version!

Is anyone aware of a workaround for this?? I hate to bootleg a software that I pretty much have the right to anyway, but its looking like I'll have to. I wish I had $100 to spare to get a bigger drive and just reinstall 10.5, but that isnt in the cards right now.

Thanks!
