Following Apple's announcement of 10.8 Mountain Lion today, I took some time to think about what could be in store for OS X and iOS in the future. Apple also said that they are going to release an OS update every year from now on, or is that until OS 11? If so, they will release 10.8 this summer in 2012, and 10.9 sometime in 2013 (presumably summer). My guess is that Apple will release OS 11 in the Summer-Fall of 2014, and it will feature very deep iOS and OS X integration and support ARM processors and Intel processors across the board. By the time 2014 rolls around, my guess is that Apple will streamline Mac OS and it will look strongly like iOS. I also believe that Apple will probably eventually release an ARM based desktop/ultra-portable with the release of OS 11 alongside the iPad. Who else thinks 2014 will be the year of OS 11?
