Fatal Darkness

Hi all,

I just recently bought a G5 and I'm experiencing a strange problem that keeps occuring with the color palette. It's as if after being logged on for a little while the colors shift. For example, things that are supposed to be orange turn green and vice versa. This only seems to effect certain apps, such as the dashboard widgets. I've included screen shots below:

Any ideas?

Thanks

Well oddly enough apparently if you're viewing those screenshots from a Mac that doesn't have the problem they look correct. No wonder I haven't got many replies. Basically in the colors box where it says orange, the box would be green, etc.

The first time it happened power cycling the mac fixed it. The second time that didn't work, so I tried reseting my PRAM. That has worked so far but I'm reserving my judgment until I can go a few days without experiencing it again.

Anway, my monitor is a Digiview 21" CRT, so it's not a name brand or anything blessed by Apple. However, I've used this monitor in various versions Windows as well as X in FreeBSD and Linux and never had any problems. I haven't installed any themes that I'm aware of.

Do you have a secondary monitor?
If you do, try switching the monitors to see if the problem persists.
CRTs are weird with color. 😎
