Could anyone who downloads the DP and uses Outlook through Mail.app confirm if there are still duplicates of sent items being made? This has been very annoying and reported many times however Apple never fixed it. Kind of hoping there might a change in El Capitan. Thanks a lot!
Bug still exists with Outlook.com with Apple's Mail.app. To confirm the bug, it's only duplicating in the app and not actually sending the email twice.

On two Macs upgraded to 10.11, configd is eating a lot of CPU % when I'm connected to WiFi. I had to switch to Ethernet on my Mac Mini but that's not an option on the rMBP :(

Contacts.app only sorts by last name regardless of changing the setting to sort by first name. Also does not connect to my work Exchange global address list.

Apple has dropped discoveryd on OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) in favor of mDNSResponder. That should help with a lot of networking issues, though not specifically/directly related to wifi issues. Time will tell. I had issues with Yosemite dropping wifi until about the 3rd beta. Been solid since.

Occasionally iTunes will throw a tantrum and keep asking for my password so it can load the Redeem page. It's annoying since it keeps redirecting me from other windows to itself. Have to either turn off Internet access temporarily or just keep hitting Esc until it disappears.

And Fantastical keeps telling me after each boot its container is missing. Which is weird and not true, since it definitely is still in the place, plus it actually loads fine after the error.

Thanks a lot. That means that bug is still there although it has been heavily reported. It's really annoying and I hope Apple fixes the way, they've fixed handling of Google's IMAP.

My main iCloud account main won't connect and I can't upload photos to my gun trading site so this is clearly a catastrophic failure. Call Tim Cook.

Here's the list of known issues in DP1

Notes and Known Issues

Installation Note

  • After upgrading to OS X El Capitan Developer Beta, applications that write to protected/system locations may no longer function correctly.
Installation Known Issues

  • Directly upgrading from OS X Lion or earlier to OS X El Capitan Developer Beta 1 is not recommended.
  • Migration from Windows is not supported in Developer Beta 1.
AirPlay Known Issue
  • AirPlay may not connect correctly with AppleTV. If both Apple TV and sender device are not on the same network, connect AirPlay once while on the same network, then try again. Alternatively, you may reboot both the Apple TV and the Mac, then try again.
Aperture Known Issues
  • Importing RAW files may cause the app to quit unexpectedly.
  • The Aperture workspace may disappear occasionally. To bring back the workspace, click on the Aperture icon in the dock.
  • Some Sony RAW images may not appear correctly.
  • Dismissing certain dialogs may cause the workspace to become unresponsive and require a force quit and relaunch.
  • Aperture may quit unexpectedly when attempting to print photos. The Photos app can be used to print instead.
AVFoundation Note
  • In OS X El Capitan Developer Beta, AVQueuePlayer now supports a mixture of file-based media and HTTP Live Streaming media in its queue.
Bluetooth Known Issue
  • On pre-2009 Macs, Bluetooth may sometimes not show up after reboot or wake from sleep. Reboot the system to workaround.
Disk Utility Note
  • System file permissions are automatically protected, and updated during Software Updates. The Repair Permissions function is no longer necessary.
Disk Utility Known Issue
  • Disk Image conversion and a RAID setup assistant are not available in Developer Beta 1.
Fast User Switching Known Issue
  • All users may be logged out unexpectedly when using fast user switching.
Garbage Collection Note
  • OS X El Capitan is the last major release of OS X that will support the previously deprecated garbage collection runtime. Applications or features that depend upon garbage collection may not function properly or will not launch when the runtime is removed. Developers should use Automatic Reference Counting (ARC) or manual retain/release for memory management. Xcode includes tools to aid in this migration.
iCloud Known Issues
  • If iCloud Keychain is enabled via a device running iOS 9 Beta with a Random iCloud Security Code, iCloud Keychain cannot be enabled on OS X El Capitan Developer Beta with that same Security Code. Approval from another device will allow iCloud Keychain to be enabled.
  • New iCloud Mail Accounts may fail to be created.
iPhoto Known Issues
  • Sending emails from iPhoto may not work work correctly.
  • Exiting Edit mode may cause iPhoto to quit unexpectedly.
  • Location dropdown menus in the Places view may not work correctly.
  • Faces may not be detected in newly-imported photos.
iTunes Known Issues
  • Local Contacts & Calendars may not sync via iTunes.
  • Some iPod models may not be visible in iTunes or Finder when connected.
  • Devices running iOS 9 Beta may not connect to iTunes on OS X El Capitan Developer Beta 1. To resolve install Xcode 7 beta.
Java Note
  • OS X El Capitan is the last major release of OS X that will support the previously deprecated Java 6 runtime and tools provided by Apple. Applications or features that depend upon Java 6 may not function properly or will not launch when Java 6 is removed. Developers should move to a newer version of Java as provided by Oracle. For more info on Java from Oracle: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/overview/
Logic Pro Known Issue
  • Logic Pro 9 may exit unexpectedly.
Mail Known Issues
  • Mail may fail to upgrade an existing account when OS X El Capitan Developer Beta is installed over Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
  • Mail may take a longer than expected time on initial launch after upgrading.
  • Gmail & Yahoo! accounts may fail to connect after several days. To resolve, quit and relaunch Mail.app.
  • Time Machine cannot selectively restore deleted messages in Mail in OS X El Capitan Developer Beta 1.
  • You may not be able to send email from an iCloud account after upgrading to OS X El Capitan Developer Beta 1. Sign out of your iCloud account, and sign back in to resolve this.
Metal on OS X Known Issue
  • The performance of some benchmarks may be less than expected on some 2015 systems.
Numbers Known Issue
  • Numbers.app may fail to print to a printer or save to a PDF. Export to PDF can be used as a workaround.
Photos Note
  • Photos libraries are not backwards compatible. Once a library has been opened in the OS X El Capitan Developer Beta, it will no longer be openable in OS X Yosemite or earlier.
Photos Known Issues
  • Photos must be launched once in OS X El Capitan Developer Beta 1 in order for services including iCloud Photo Library, iLife Media Browser to work correctly.

iCloud Drive, Safari and Keychain sync not enabling on my work iMac. Tried enabling Keychain both with code and with approval from other devices. It accepts the code but doesn't turn on. The approval on other devices simply fail to show.

Safari sync is the oddest. It just turns the checkmark back off again when you try to enable it.

The iCloud SMTP server mysteriously vanished from my iCloud email account.

gmail with two factor authentication does not work in Mail. It gave me the prompt once to verify my password, but never gives me a box where I can change it. Re-entering it under preferences in mail just makes the warning triangle show up telling me I need an application specific password.

Safari doesn't seem to play nicely with VPNs (at least, not with Tunnelblick). Chrome works fine, however.

It definitely is annoying and the fact I switched back to my hotmail account as primary after gmail dropped EAS push feature to iOS.

One thing I'm noticing a lot is just browsing the web and loading sites, perhaps not with a ton of images. I know FA (Feedback Assistant) states:

Safari Known Issues
  • Images and video may not load on some webpages.
I seem to be experiencing it more than I thought I would. Anyone else?

One thing I'm pleasantly surprised about is the speed and animations/gfx of El Capitan compared to other DPs.

No option for how long to wait before sleeping in System Preferences
Do you have something running Haswell or later? They removed the "time to sleep" slider in Haswell laptops, because the processor intelligently manages sleep. I think my 2013 Air came with Mountain Lion, and I haven't had it since then.

Agreed, I'm using it for my personal email and also as a mail server (before they made it paid only) - reported it and there seems to be no solution, fingers crossed it's fixed in the final version!

I have the same issue with the configd using high cpu. Problem went away with ethernet connection rather than wifi. It is a preview release :)

Have installed on three computers now: Retina iMac, Non-Retina iMac and MacBook Air. The two non-retina machines seem to have Facebook issues, while the retina iMac doesn't. How odd.

Macbook pro mid 2015 clean install

Issues coming back from sleep. Screen stays blank
Issues changing settings to NOT sleep. If you look in system info the values to sleep stay at like 1 minute.
Wifi completely drops out randomly and won't come back until you toggle wifi off then on
Safari freezes and is unclickable/movable. have to kill and re open
When installing software the filevault icon comes on screen and is checking something ForEvEr. I don't have encryption on either.
Panes randomly freeze.

Pretty buggy for daily driver so far.

When enabling a Gmail email in Mail.app settings the app will quit. BUG ALERT! Doesn't happen with iCloud etc. So it must be something wrong with the El Capitan Gmail email enabling.
El Capitan mail app will crash on exchange mail address either! I have deactivated most of my account except outlook account to prevent it from crashing over and over.
