I have Home Sharing setup in iTunes 12.0.1 on OS X 10.10.

On macOS 15.2;
The music app can connect to and use the music portion of library
The TV can connect to library, but it can only see videos in custom playlists, not under the Movie and TV sidebar. Content selected from a playlist does play fine.

Does anyone know a fix for this?

Some more testing of Home Sharing:
iOS 18.2.1 client
Remote app connects and functions correctly.
Music app:
  • Can browse library and playback content.
  • Movies and TV shows section is empty.
  • Video playlists are visible but empty.
  • Play counts do not update.
TV app EDIT: cannot see the library can see the library, no playlists, thumbnails are showing

Sorry, don't know anything about using iTunes on 10.10. However the empty video playlists on iOS appears to be a universal problem going back as far as I can recall. iOS apparently just doesn't support shared video playlists. And the MacOS TV app doesn't support shared video playlists either. They appear and the header correctly shows the total amount of content. But the list is empty. OTOH, the same shared video playlists work just fine on my two AppleTV's. Shared music playlists work fine all all devices.

I recently replaced a 2014 Mini running iTunes on Mojave with an m4 Mini with the new apps and media sharing enabled. Same problem - shared video playlists work fine on the AppleTV's but not on other Macs or i-devices.

I'm surprised that this has never been fixed and can only conclude "it's a feature, not a bug". Have mentioned this in various posts myself but never got much response. Anyway, that's one thing I don't believe you're going to be able to fix.

Interesting, for me, in the TV app:
  • Home Sharing:
    • The Library Recently Added, Movies and TV Show categories are empty.
    • Playlists are populated, without thumbnails, and playback works
  • Public Sharing:
    • The Library Recently Added, Movies and TV Show are populated
    • Playlists show populated, with thumbnails.

Well, I'll have to take that back. Shared playlists weren't working in the Mac TV app when I was using iTunes under Mojave as a server with home sharing. But now that I've switched to media sharing on a new m4 Mini running Sequoia... they do work!

But still can't access shared video playlists in the TV app on my iPhone. It just doesn't show playlists at all (unless I haven't figured out how).

The Home Sharing library is now working on my iPhone. No video playlists as you mentioned, but the thumbnails are there, unlike on macOS.
