I have a friend who has the most recent beta running smoothly on a b/w. So it looks like while support will be dropped, it still may work on many legacy machines.
But yeah, all official reports from Apple say that Leopard will run on G4 and up.
appleinsider reported that leopard will require a minimum of a 867 mhz g4 processor. i'm sure it'll run on a slower system, but i don't know how snappy or worthwhile it will be.
