Hi all,

I am trying to install Lion as a fresh install. When installing Lion you are aced to log into your apple account to verify you have purchased lion, upon entering my details I get a message which reads "An unknown error has occurred" with the option to cancel or retry.

Does anyone have any idea what could be happening?

I am connected to the internet - I can use safari.
I have tried logging into the mac app store from another mac and I was able to.
Reboot does nothing
Holding down the power button without power cord for 15 seconds (?) does nothing. (not sure what this does but i know apple ask you to do this in their telephone support)
Out of hours for phone support and could really do with getting this sorted out tonight. :(

Many thanks for any help

sounds like you are you using the recovery option. Try making a boot disk instead.
