OS X Mail just stopped working

    The Mail app on my 2013 iMac running Yosemite has not been able to sync with my Microsoft Outlook account for the last two days. I have tried everything I can think of, such as taking the account offline then back online and synchronizing all accounts, but nothing works. Is there a way to uninstall and re-install one of the base OS X apps like Mail?

    Run the Connection Doctor from the Window menu and see if it's connecting properly. If not, check your settings or consider deleting the Outlook account then reinstalling it. You cannot (easily) delete Mac Mail.
