Anyone who seen video can tell me if this is normal with ssd or it takes too long??
My ssd is m4..
Thnx

How long is your boot time?
It depends on your SSD but mine with Crucial M4, it takes about 10~14 sec.

And I mean boot time.
The moment when you hit that power button to whole apps and everything load.

Actually i dont believe you that 12 secs is too short!

----------

I've installed windows 7 and it didn't take 10 minutes. :/

You have to install from usb

no it doesnt take 10 min to install win 7 on a usb stick. Win 8 still takes 20 min to install

and I do take 12s to boot on a corsair f120, sometimes less

this is the second time that I see the efi taking that long time to boot, reinstall osx and see if it fixes, a clean install btw

Am not asking about win 8 .. it didnt released yet!
When i installing win 7 on my acer it takes 7 minutes.. (usb)
I tried to reinstall osx and still is white screen long..
I was thinking removing battery on mb.. clear everything

OK so those 20 min. average ... cool..
I have another problem once I power up macbook pro and white screen appears it stays long time about 10 seconds and then apple logo shows up ..
Shouldn't be about 5 secs?
I have feeling that before it was faster now have to wait few seconds more..
Any idea?
Thank

boot up to desktop takes 24.7 sec with Intel 320 Series 160GB SSD :apple:

Hi guys
Is it normal that installation of an OS X takes so long ? about 30 min all together? (unpacking 5-7 min , installing 17-20 min)
This is ridiculous !

Try installing Tiger on a G5 from a DVD. :D

I was quite impressed with how long my SD card clean install of ML took in my MBP.

Your computer is 5 years old, and it takes 10secs to boot up. Seems reasonable to me.

Yeah but you would wonder too when it was faster earlier and slow now..

I did a clean install from an SD card.

Onto a brand new MBP with brand new Samsung 830. :D

How long did it take?

Its completely normal...

Will you proove it? Because i dont belive that
Could u upload video of your boot?

Not really. You are running an OS optimized for the latest tech (quad core machines), on a machine that is 5 years old. It is not uncommon for some machines to run slower with a newer OS. As well as incompatibility issues. It is why I don't always upgrade to the latest OS on an older machine. It isn't always worth it.
