Hi everyone.
Despite it's shortcomings I really try to like the OS X Photos App.
I've been using Aperture... tried Capture One and Lightroom and I just don't really like either of them. For the time being I keep using Photos, C1 and LR all at the same time until I make up my mind. I use the same set of referenced images all of which reside in a fixed folder hierarchy.
Anyhow.
I imported the referenced images with Photos and 2 things happened:
The folder contains 823 files. 814 of which are actual images and videos (the remaining 9 files are just slo-mo sidecare files).
When I try to import them into Photos it correctly identifies 814 of them as media files and imports them successfully.
Photos even tells me that 814 files have been imported. If I then however select the Last Import or the Album to which I imported everything it reads that it only contains 806 items!
Doing the same with C1 and LR both applications list the correct number of 814. I'd rather, at this point, not go manually through all the images to see which ones are missing.
The other issue I have with Photos is that the order of the photos is just wrong.
All images were taken with a DSLM, an iPhone 6 and an iPhone 6 Plus. The time and date in the DSLM was set to match the iPhones so that there are no issues there.
After the import C1 shows the correct order of the images according to the capture/creation time (for whatever reason it does list the videos on top of the images... but that is only a minor annoyance).
In Photos the DSLM images are in the correct order, the iPhone images, however, show up in random places. Looking at the images meta-data, however, the time stamps are correct. Sorted by time they should be displayed in the correct order. For whatever reason... they are not.
In LR... everything seems to be correct. Except for that ONLY the videos show a wrong capture time which is shifted by 2 hours (see screenshot).
Does anyone have any ideas what is going on here? I'm a bit clueless... because it seems every application is doing its very own thing to mess things up a little!
