It's a big issue for ME
I'm glad spam isn't a big issue for you. I don't want it to become one. I get ~ 1800 spam messages per day. I filter out about 90% of those at the server, and Mail.app gets a bunch of the rest. I'm not an amateur, and spam IS a problem.
Spotlight needs a singular "no automatic internet access" button. google/bing/yahoo searching on my behalf is NOT what I want. Some areas of OS X are engineered with privacy in mind, other areas ... not so much.
Sure I know that too - Or you have a good spam filter on your email server. All my HTML images setting are on etc. I get maybe 1 spam mails out of 500+ mails a week. Click as junk and never again.
Point is this is utterly overblown as a MAJOR issue.
