Ever since I installed El Capitan the app store is still trying to update iPhoto. Of course, when I try to update it it gives an error about that app being unavailable for my Apple ID.

How do I get rid of this???

Have you removed it from your applications folder? Upgrading to El Capitan will not remove it.

You can either delete your existing copy and not replace it, or delete your existing copy then download iPhoto again from the "purchases" section to get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you want to keep using it.

I had a feeling it would be something simple like that. Thank y'all.

My suggestion is to delete your existing iPhoto app.

Then go to the "purchases" tab at the App Store (as described above) and download the final version of iPhoto, which is 9.6.1.

Then, either archive that copy of iPhoto to somewhere safe on your drive (other than the applications folder), or -- just leave it in the applications folder, unused.

You never know when someday in the future, you might need to access it...
