Hi, as I stream my films via Yazsoft's Playback to my Xbox 360, I require hardcoded subs.

Can anyone suggest a program which allows me to open a movie + sub file and encode them? I paid for Quicktime Pro, but haven't worked out how/whether it can do this?

    Cheers

Have a look at Submerge 2.0 and RoadMovie from bitfield:
    http://www.bitfield.se/support/comparison.html

I've used Version 1 of Submerge and it worked, however it took quite some time to encode due to lack of proper multithreading support.

I should have stipulated, these are Xvid AVIs with AC3 5.1 sound..

Doesn't look like these cover that format?

    apple had dvd studio pro

just write in your subs yourself... not simple you will need to read a guide or youtube some instructions for some time before you can just hack at it

the software came bundled with final cut
