Technically yes it is, "The All-in-One was specifically designed for the education market."

eMac

"eMac" is the name of a specific product line. If you went back to 1998 and said "I have an eMac," nobody would know what you're talking about, because thats not the name of the product.

I have to agree with dpaanlka, because with thebeephaha logic, I can go back to 1984 and say "I have a Mac, so its an iMac!"

it could be installed for either OS9 or OSX, much as Illustrator 10 could run in either OS9 or OSX
Or Acrobat 5.0.5 or AppleWorks 6.2.9 or any number of other apps... which doesn't change the fact that they are in fact Mac OS X native apps.

Mac OS X native means runs as a normal Mac OS X application without the need for Classic... it has never meant Mac OS X only.

... unless you want to try and use the thebeephaha's eMac argument where anything means anything you want to try to make yourself right.

I, personally, tend to like my phrases to stick with their original intended meanings... as a posed to people who like to change things to suit their mood.

Yeah... why don't we try sticking with the original meanings of stuff for the rest of this thread.

I work in a graphic design firm that still insists on using OS 9.

If Adobe Framemaker is in any way part of your workflow then continuing to use OS 9 is not crazy. Adobe decided to cancel production of Framemaker for OS X. There are a number of organizations (including Apple) that continue to use and require Framemaker for their document authoring needs.

Sure, you can run Framemaker in Classic but there are a few quirks with doing that.

yea...why don't we step away from our soapbox and switch to decaf
If that is your way of conceding, that is fine with me. :D

But not to put too strong a point on it... I merely pointed out that Photoshop 7 was Mac OS X native. I'm guessing that you may want to follow your own advice and both switch to decaf and lighten up. Your attempt to argue a point which wasn't arguable (or winnable for that matter) shows you're more reactionary than I am (and I'm pretty reactionary).

So yeah, I'll step away from the soapbox, you promise to switch to decaf and lighten up, and we'll both be in good shape.

shows you're more reactionary than I am (and I'm pretty reactionary).

ah, the joy of semantics...

reactionary [ree-ak-shuh-ner-ee] adjective, noun, plural -aries.
–adjective
1. of, pertaining to, marked by, or favoring reaction, esp. extreme conservatism or rightism in politics; opposing political or social change.
–noun
2. a reactionary person.

Also, reactionist.

I believe the word you're looking for is contentious. :D

you'll take the bait...you can't help yourself

Actually, contentious didn't work as well with the soapbox that you introduced... can you think of a better alternative with a slight political feel to it?

I'm open to suggestions.

Isn't this actually a better color than "White"?

OS X has been the future for years. OS 9 was officially laid to rest back in 2002, move on. If OS 9 is making you money, and you have no problem with it, then whatever.

Also, this thread was started in June and suddenly got rebirthed. Is rebirthed a word?

In some circles, it's referred to as 'thread necromancy'. :D

No, I think #fafafa is a better color, because it is the actual color of the page, although I guess #eeeeee is cool because it doesn't show up in quotes. :D
Good point, I hadn't thought of that.
