I'm a Java developer but on the side I have been trying to learn Obj-C & Cocoa. I'm interested in helping with an OSS Cocoa project that is more in the beginning phases. I looked at Adium's source but it is a lot to take in.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any opportunities.

There's a pretty good list of mac apps at http://www.opensourcemac.org/, start at the project homepages and see what the need is. If you are pretty green you could always start as a tester, and when you find a bug try to submit a source patch...
