Gmail or gmail enterprise accounts will do it automatically. They can show it's delivered. Not sure about natively in OS X though...
 
dont use gmail. this is for a webmail account. Its GOT to be from a webmail (business) account and was hoping the mail app.

There are often big differences with doing things between different operating systems. 10.4 and 10.5 have very different Mail apps. Plus 10.6 is is going to be a very different OS release focused on making things work more smoothly and not new features.

agreed and some ppl have developer copies of new operating systems so it is an important thing to verify.
 
well.. I said sorry. I said typo.. I said i have 10.5.6

ran the thing on about.com and i get a receipt on the receivers end, but it says "can not send receipt" when you click OK and the sender gets nothing
