OSX Backup Disks

Dear All,
I tried to copy my OS X disks for backup purpose, I succeeded for Disk One, Unfortunately, while copying Disk two; I got a message of hardware error and the process failed. I spoiled 3 DL DVD till now. Can anybody guide me how to do so? noting that I have Mac book Pro 2.4, OSX 10.5 and using Roxio 9
