OSX combined update frozen?

Software updating a blackbook after installing 10.5 from the original disk (this computer was previously tiger)

Stuck at about 4% "Configuring installation"

been sitting for about an hour now. any ideas?
 
I had this same problem when I first got my MB a year ago. If you check what version of Leopard is and make sure that you are only trying to go up one step from what your MB is now. Once I did this I had no problem and has been smooth sailing from then on.
