OSX Dashboard

I am using OS 10.4.9 on a Mac G4. The Dashboard icon is no longer on the sidebar. How do I reinstate Dashboard?

What sidebar, the dock? If so, just drag it from Applications to the dock.

Drag its icon from the applications folder to the dock.

OSX Dashboard

Great! The icon is back on the dock.

But, when I click the cursor on it, all that happens is that the entire screen dims until I click again on or off the icon. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Thats's what dashboard does. Click the + in the lower left to add widgets.
