Is anyone else having an issue installing the latest El Capitan PB 5. It dowenloads fine, restarts to install then after a few minutes pops up with a message saying 'El Capitan cannot be verified, please restart and try installing again'. I've tried this 5 times but with no success (it has to download the update each time).

Running on a 27" iMac 2011, trying to update via App Store.

Update worked fine on my rMBP 13".

No idea what to do next!

Trying to update just now and getting the same error.

Patience, I guess, must be an issue with Apple's servers.

Any idea if there is another way to install, or download from another location other than the app store? Wondering if it's an issue with the downloaded file

Same thing here!
Tried three times yesterday and once today, both in regular and safe boot, with same result every time. Quite annoying...

What machine are you using?

13" MacBook Air from July 2011.
It begins installation and ticks along nicely for 4-5 minutes, then errors out.

Edit:
Last time just 10 minutes ago, after a fresh download of the 2,45 GB. Luckily I have a fast connection, so download only take a minute.

Thankfully I had my internet connection upgraded to fibre optic literally yesterday, so perfect timing for this error to happen (if that makes sense?!)

Really frustrating though, with no obvious fix to resolve it

Thanks for all the replies. Finally worked tonight, after 7 downloads of 2GB and nearly 24 hours!

Hello:

I have been trying to install, same thing as several others...

Starts installing - Crashes out - saying can not verify?

Any tips / suggestions?

Thanks for helping...

Have a nice day,

Ed

It sounds strange but in my case it worked after setting the date and time correctly. Switched on and off the automatic setting.

You can get the direct links in the apple developer forums. This lets you download via a browser instead of the mac app store and install manually.

It comes with 2 files called OSXUpd10.11.pkg and FirmwareUpdate.pkg. You should install the firmware update first.

This is a more reliable way to install it if the mac app store method is giving you trouble.

We can't post the links here on macrumors though because it is against the rules.

I did download and install firmware FirmwareUpdate.pkg however its still says can not verify while installing OSXUpd10.11.pkg. :((
