As I said originally It's astonishing that OSX can't do a simple SEARCH ALL. Absolutely retarded.

For me this has never been that big of an issue. I use the app called AppCleaner, it finds and removes the associated files for an app that I am uninstalling.

Maybe you would like to report your feedback about Finder to Apple to help improve the “retarded” Finder. https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html

I posted "the solution" to the search problems in reply 13 above.

Sometimes small (and free) 3rd-party apps "do it better" than Apple...

can it be real address bar which i can type or click folder folder or more faster i type tab in terminal?
You can double-click a folder to go to and return to the previous folder clicking the left "arrow" on the top left of the window or the right "arrow" to go the other way. You also can use shift+cmd+G to input the full path to file or folder just like in terminal.
There's a nice channel in you tube with thousands of tutorial videos called MACMOSTVIDEO. You should check it.

oh shift command g just pure pop up.. hmm not user friendly,

Nope doesnt work. Still didnt find some log files.

It's just crazy there is not a SEARCH ALL in finder. This is what it should DEFAULT to and it doesn't exist.
I've been having the same issue. When I search a name, EVERYTHING comes up whether the search parameters are in the file or not. I've used Apple since 1998 and this is a very recent issue. Search has always been on point with MacBooks, but sometime in the past couple of years the function changed and it's just plain awful now. I had not known about the advanced search which definitely helps, but I much prefer the old version.
