OSX Mail going crazy with GMail big attachments

Hi guys, I've had this problem before and solved it, but I can't find the website with the solution for it and I don't remember what I did.

I accidentally tried to e-mail a big attachment through Mail from my Gmail account and now my Gmail account in Mail is stuck. Always trying to update but never finishing to do so.

How can I solve this? I vaguely remember I had to delete something in the Mail app package but don't remember what.
