I use a lot more apps of course, but these two are essential.

I forgot one more important piece of software in my arsenal:

The macOS 10.12.6 installer!

(especially because Apple, in their infinite wisdom to force us onto their latest code, no matter how awful it is, removed the Sierra installer from the Mac App Store. They didn't remove Lion, Mountain Lion, etc., no! Only Sierra!)

Why do you think they removed macOS Sierra from MAS? You can download it anytime: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/macos-sierra/id1127487414?ls=1&mt=12

Yes, but how many people will find that? Most will not bother, and they shouldnt have to. Mac App Store is supposed to make it convenient for us to get at software, but no, Apple is just centralizing control of software to assert better and tighter control of what gets on its Macs, including their own software and OS - all under the pretense of safety and security. Gatekeeper (nice occult term for that part of the OS) keeps getting stricter...again, the pretense being "Oh, we're protecting our users against the boogeyman".

Pathetically transparent agenda, Apple.
