My "open with" contextual menu in the finder is listing Apps that are installed on a different partition on a different OSX install that what I am using.

Let me explain - I have my main drive with Photoshop on it. I also have an install of OSX on another drive that I never use, it's just a clean install I did for testing purposes. I also installed Photoshop onto it.

Well, it seems that my active instance of OSX is searching all my drives for apps, and then using the Photoshop.app from that OTHER install to open my files when I choose "open with" from a right-click. So then, I have two Photoshops open at the same time, both installed on different drives.

Annoying. what can I do?

oh also, the other drives are already excluded from a spotlight search, if that matters.

i have had a similar thing in the past, i think osxhints has a solution, ill try and look

i cant seem to find it, i think it was something to do with archive and install leaving reminents or something:
