OSX takes too long to shutdown with SDD

Hello,

it seems if i don't turn off my iMac for a couple of days, my iMac takes a while to turn off (sometime up to 10 min) or even never boots off (when i keep it on for a month or so).

I have a SSD with OSX snow leopard 10.6.7
