OSX upgrade, will time machine continue?

Just upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan.
Can I continue to backup to Time Machine, or do I need to wipe it.

There's no need to wipe the backup. Just keep using what you have.

Really, that's cool.
I wasn't sure if it would work with months of 10.10 backups, then suddenly 10.11.
Would it not need to do a full backup based on the new OS version.

It'll backup whatever system files are different, not necessarily a full new backup.
