OSX Yosemite public beta.

    Will it be released 12.00am US time? And how will the download be available?

    Update will be available around 1 pm Pacific time. You have to sign up for the Yosemite public beta program and once the beta goes live apple will email you the key for it. You have to input it somewhere in the app store to get the access to the beta.

    I expect it to be done one of 2 ways. Either you will get a redemption code for the Mac App Store (like the codes on iTunes gift cards or Starbucks App of the week), or you will have to install a validation .pkg file (like they do with the Apple Seed program).

    Either way, the software will be available via the Mac App Store (updates tab) and/or Software Updates. And you have to have already registered for the program to get "in", however they do it.

    considering around a million people are going to want to download it ; i would give it a a day or two before you get it , unless you get lucky lol , i remember when the download codes for mountain lion were being released it took almost 3 days for me to get mine

    Yeah I registered for it when they announced Yosemite. Can't wait
