I installed iOS6 b2 via downloaded firmware, so it was a fresh install. I know that beta 3 has yet to be released, but does anyone know if it will allow me to update to b3 over-the-air, or will I have to install a fresh copy every time a new beta is released?

Thanks!:apple:

There is no guarantee that there is even a beta 3 coming out today
I wasn't asking about beta 3's release date, or expecting it to arrive today. I'm asking if my iPhone will allow me to update TO beta 3 over-the-air.

I wasn't sure if it would allow me to do so, since I am not developer. Great news, though. Thanks!

I love 3 idiots voted your post down. Note: If you're not a dev, pretend you are. Actual devs, and people who are jealous they paid the $99 for a dev account will whine and complain.

Anyways, as long as your UDID is registered, you can DL OTA

Who's whining and complaining or acting jealous here?

OK let's put an end to this before people get upset... OP, yes you should be able to update to Beta 3 once it becomes available. Let's close this one up.

Thanks for the feedback. Simple questions should yield simple answers, I'll post again and let you all know if it works or not.

If you're not a dev, it's possible Apple will not allow you to update via OTA or iTunes so you should be extra careful.

To my knowledge there is no UDID check implemented in the OTA function yet. Usually it is safer to wait for the first forum posts after the release to see if Apple checks the UDID. But to be honest, I don't think Apple would maliciously brick iPhones via OTA, so you would probably get an error before it even updates.

I believe it's only at initial activation that UDID's etc are checked.
