Other Lanugages in Word 04

Trying to type something for french in word, can't figure out how to get letters with accents etc. into it. I know on windows you could use alt + numpad, but that's not working here on my mac. Any ideas?

alt/option + e for the é, something similar for the rest.

EDIT:
alt/option + u for ë
alt/option + ~ for è
alt/option + c for ç
alt/option + i for ê
