Finally found one up here. So far, I'm impressed with the weight, but the seals are a bit of a concern. I had issues taking it out, especially as when I got it the seals weren't perfectly sealed (it was open at the bottom), but they don't look like they've had time to degrade when examined.

The water immersion test showed a bit of water remaining in the crevices where you're supposed to insert the coins to open it. It's damned hard to open, but the (relatively) light weight and slightly thinner build compared to the Defender is nice. I'll give it a few days before passing judgement on it.

The Home button is marvelous - doesn't feel like it's covered at all, unlike the Defender.

Incidentally, a few days in, and I've had no thought of switching it out of the case. For one, it's a bitch to pull out of said case. And the second thing is that it does what I need to do, isn't too heavy, and covers everything nicely. About the only pick I have with it is the included cover; the stand is garbage (it won't even stay folded, much less upright), and it doesn't have magnets for sleep/wake functionality the way the Otterbox does. Also, the clear back seems to be a magnet for scratches.

The former I've fixed with a neodymium magnet and some double-sided tape (to keep the stand folded into the lid). The latter I got a carbon-fiber skin from Clear-Coat to keep it from getting scratched up. Overall, the Lifeproof does what I need it to do.. but it's definitely not for everyone. The sound isn't muffled, at least for me; I just avoid holding it by the area near the grill.

I have a survivor on my iPad I'm very impressed with the screen protector and how Well built the case is!! It does add a lot of bulk though

I use survivor for my i5 , I can use with one hand still and all functions work well I'm loving it I just want pool blue now as I got black mainly in au

I've had great luck with the Defender for the iPhone, but the screen protector on the Retina iPad is abysmal. It makes Lifeproof look like a masterpiece of workmanship. If you love HUGE Newton rings, by all means, go for the Otterbox and see your Retina display reduced to looking like it is coated in Black Sea crude oil. Of course, you can try the old trick and fill your sealed dustproof (sort of) case with baby powder to reduce the "oil slick."

I only have one problem with the Nuud - it's impossible to use it for Skype/Facetime with anything but a very low volume, because the sound is transported from the speaker to the microphone via the back plate and causes a loud, distorted echo at the other side. Absolutely horrendous.

And the Lifeproof support told me to fix the problem by simply removing it from the case any time I'd like to use Skype or Facetime. What a joke, I couldn't believe it when I read the reply. Plus, they just stopped replying at all after that.

Griffin Survivor users, how is the responsiveness of the screen on ipad

Griffin Survivor users, how is the responsiveness of the screen on ipad

Not had a problem with mine, the comparison between cases is a strange discussion, the simple way to look at it is this: What are you going to do with your iPad? What type of work do you do?

When i asked myself these questions i had no choice but to get a Griffin Survivor case, if you wont want complete protection then the otterbox is the next case down.

But for complete protection of all the ports and screen then the Survivor is the only viable option.

Personally I prefer the Otterbox as I thought it felt more solid. There both good cases though so I suppose it all comes to personal preferences.

Survivor new version user here.
Massive and heavy but great for protection and for people like me who dont need a case at all but they enjoy playing with such things.

Not to forget that I built in screen protector is a piece of junk. 3 solutions (I have tried them all:
1) Do not use the screen cover part at all. Ipad doenot look so polished without this part, but i am pretty impressive that it 100% functioning and not that bad looking.
2) Remove the plastic screen protector from the screen frame. You need to work on the glue residue left, but the results are impressive having all 3 parts in place but without that crappy film.
3) That one is the best choice. It is mainly same as 2) but you use a regular screen protector to have some kind of screen protection. Outstanding results when used a glass screen protector. It fits perfectly without issues.

Peace.
