Im quite amazed at how long this thread is actually getting with lots of the replies saying the same thing.

The original OP going quiet says enough !

PhD in Physics with a minor in Engineering says what happened was it WAS a 4 foot drop, in the persons hand all the way down, fingers under top, full weight of person on palm, fingers acted as a fulcrum shattering glass and bending the case.
Otherwise this is some kind of weird joke.

Let's see this PhD in physics for youto explain the way it happened

You seem like the Dos Equios guy

I dropped my iPhone 4s onto the concrete about 5 feet high and only had some flimsy little rubber case on it... It didn't even have a scratch! I was lucky because it landed on its side twice before it landed on the screen. It took the brunt of the fall. My screen wasn't scratched either. I felt like the luckiest man on earth that day :)

I managed to track down a picture of the OP lol

If OP simply went away for the weekend and was cut off from the Internet, he'll be back tonight or tomorrow to defend himself.

If he is of such small spirit that trolling on computer forums is the only pasttime that sustains him, then he has given up far more than any of us.

Good picture, either way.

+1. (without the phd in physics)

Maybe it was thrown to the ground at 200mph from 4 feet. No way a 4 foot drop being pulled by gravity could cause that. Maybe he was 4 feet away from the train when he dropped it in the track? 4 feet CAN NOT cause a glass shatter that bad. A student at my school brought his gf iPhone to me. She was taking a picture and the phone fell from one floor to another. That was a one story drop onto tile. No case. It was an iPhone 4. Glass was shattered. But not as bad as this. It also wasn't bent.

I find it hard to believe that a 4 foot drop in a fricken OTTERBOX would do this.

samething just happend to me. walking my dog and my iPhone 4s landed flat on the sidewalk. now the entire screen is shattered!!:mad:

this makes me wonder if there is even a need for a case. by the way i dont have insurance so how much would it cost me to get it fixed or replaced?

I've read every post on this thread and all I can say is bravo op. you've definitely trolled everyone to the point where you don't even have to post anymore and people are still arguing. :)
