Otterbox Ipad2 defender case

Hmm? It's probably me but I didn't see the clear plastic bezel that you talk of. I didn't see it in the youtube video.
I still like the case though, I'll probably order one as soon as Amazon starts to sell them unless there is something better that's announced or coming out soon.

Wow. Otterbox really screwed up with this design. What idiot in charge at Otterbox made the call to no longer protect the entire bezel, even with the cover in place? People like the defender line because of its complete protection, not this stupid, half-assed gabage.

They exposed the bezel for people with the white ipad so people will know thats its white. Which is stupid they should of stuck with the original design.
I actually like the design better than the first one.
On the first one when moving icons over to the left or right it was a pain, plus taking a bit of the bezel off prob made it lighter as they say in the new video 20% lighter.
Now the opening for the speaker im kind of on the fence about i dont know why they did that.

It's 4 ounces lighter than the first defender. Big deal. Why don't we not protect anything at all and make it 100% lighter?
I completely disagree with difficulty moving icons. With the first one, you would move just the icon to where it meets the defender and it would jump to the next page. Without the case meeting at the bezel, you need to look to see where the screen ends, and hold there.
This case is a joke. Total disappointment. This is what happens when the stupid suits at a company make decisions.
This was another stupid decision, clearly by somebody that doesn't use an ipad.
Anyone care to suggest a case for the ipad2, similar to the original defender?

Lifeproof is vaporware, unfortunately. They had a "set back" a couple weeks ago with their iphone 4 case. The set back, basically though, was that the entire integrity of the case failed when under water. They're basically starting from the concept stage at this point - back to the drawing board.

It's still has not come out yet, by the time it's ready I would have already dropped my iPad and the iPad 3 would be getting ready to launch
The gentleman at the Cellular Assc. place said he hopes to ship these by May 6th, thats what was told by Otterbox
The Otterbox is also vaporware (frustratingly so) - showing pictures and videos of a product that is not only not shipping now but at no certain or even announced point in the future is the very definition of vaporware.
The Otterbox Defender for iPad 2 isn't vaporware. They've always released every announced product. It will be shipping over the next week or so.
However, it's just a failed design with the exposed bezel, so you could show off your pretty white iPad. It would actually be better off as vaporware.

Some of us are ok with the exposed bezel, esp. if you're going to use with a screen protector anyway.
If you're fine with an exposed bezel, there are plenty of other less-protective products currently available.

This Date is just an Estimation based on the information given to us from Otterbox. The First Batch was rejected due to Quality issues.

It is for reasons like this that we do not release dates... our cases go through a rigorous development and quality process and our feeling is we would rather develop quality than put something out there that doesn't offer the protection our customers have come to expect from us
