I am using Pursuit for 7 plus. I also have Lifeproof NUUD. I abandoned NUUD for two main reasons:
1. Condensation in the camera lens. Not from water leaking in but from temperature changes of air inside the case. Tried several NUUD cases, ALL had this issue. And when condensation goes away (takes hours!), it leaves little dried water marks on the lens...resulting in me having to take case apart to clean it.
2. Intermittent sound issue where the other person on the line cannot hear me. It is a weird problem because it does not happen all the time, just ever so often.
The Pursuit is not perfect either, but it solves the above two issues...that is, the camera is unobstructed. NUUD camera lens sometimes give me glare not seen without case. So far, the sound from music and callers are just fine. The “porting” of the sound to the front is nice bonus.
It is very protective because on the inside are significant (thick) rubber ribbing along the edge to protect side drops. Then you have foam lining front and back to protect front and back of iPhone from drops. I have ZAGG glass protector in front.
I have done brief water testing and no water leaks into the case. I have the clear back which (like NUUD) does show scratches after time. Unlike NUUD, the Pursuit case has a rim in the back to lift the clear back off the table, thus decreasing scratch vs. NUUD.
Materials wise, it is NOT worth $80. I got on eBay for $50. It should be around $40-50 at most. It is not very comfortable to hold for long time because it is wide (like NUUD) and the edges are not refined (somewhat sharp). I do fear that the port cover on the bottom (over Lightning) will tear off with use, but that is why you have warranty, right?!
The silent “switch” is not very well done. You have to use your nail and push into the switch and turn to make it work. Works, but you have to know how to do it, which was not explained in the instructions.
Overall, i am using this over NUUD for the two issues with NUUD noted above, which i think are deal killers! The Pursuit avoids them. It does add a few minor annoyances, but none are deal killers (other than asking price i guess). It exposes only the front speaker and back camera (with noise reduction hole) to water...and both of those are covered by metal grille. So, it would not surprise me to see that it is basically water resistant.
