Been waiting for this a good while. Anyone own this case for the 13 lineup?

If they released it silently, I hope you won't get in trouble for spilling the beans.
lol 😂 To clarify: They put out a press release when the Core Series cases for the 13 debuted. I thought this series was discontinued because it was absent when they dropped the usual Defender, Symmetry, and Aneu offerings for the 14 - till I stumbled upon these on the Apple Store today. Surprising they haven't announced these yet because they're a more attractive offering than the usual drab Otterbox fare.

A friend has the black color way on a 13, and really likes it. I think it looks and feels great, too. This was my first choice when I got my 14 Pro, but since it wasn’t available, I got other cases, and had no intention of getting more . . . I wonder how the purple would look on a purple 14 Pro. It seems kind of pastel-y.

I had the white and black ones for the 13 PM. My partner used the black and he loves it.
I don’t like it a lot as it feels very powdery in the hands.

It’s appearing in the Apple Store in Australia too. But delivery is on 8-10 weeks with estimated pick up from store day of Jan 19 2023 LOL

Hmm the black one intrigues me a little. Looks like it’s available now here in Vancouver too.

Well, I have no impulse control and ordered the gray one from Apple, should be delivered on Wednesday. It looks more white on the Apple site, more gray on the Otterbox site. I can report back about how it looks on a purple 14 Pro after Wednesday, if anyone is interested. (The purple one looked too “Easter egg” for me; the black looks good, but my other cases are dark so I wanted something lighter.)

Otterbox used graphical renders of the case on their native storefront while Apple seemingly took pictures of the product for display on the Apple online store to match their exacting standards (how neurotically Apple), though I don't know if they used physical iPhones in their shoots or superimposed the screen, camera arrays, and Apple logo onto the case. I believe that explains the discrepancy.

The case looks more appealing on Apple's website anyway. It has a milky hue, reminiscent of funfetti cake - the pallid cadaver-like gra/ey on Otterbox's storefront is an atrocity.

Please do!

Will do! Although I actually like the gray better than the white/milky hue, cadaver-like or not :).

The case is a 50-50 mix of rubber and recycled silicone; I believe it is the rubber that contributes to the powdery feeling. I find the inclusion of rubber intriguing - I reckon it bolsters the case's durability relative to Apple's 100% silicone cases that reportedly crack and peel after a couple of months of use. A caveat is that it makes the Core series cases a tad slick, but this is probably countered by the protrusion of the funfetti bits, which add a bit of texture and accordingly some grip as well.

If the grey is this dark and translucent, I’m curious how it would look with the Space Black 14 PM. Might stop by the Apple Store this week to look at the grey and the black Core cases…

Now I'm second-guessing myself, not sure how the MagSafe ring is going to look on the grey on a purple phone. I guess I can always exchange it for the black. Or return in, not like I *need* another case! I wish the closest Apple store wasn't 50+ miles from me so I could just see them in person.

Yeah, worst-case just gotta go through the minor hassle of doing an exchange via mail.

I don’t *need* another case either, but the Nomad Rugged case in Orange being delayed is making me a little itchy to pick something else up…

Here are photos of the gray/grey colorway beside and on my purple 14 Pro. The only camera I had available is on my 2018 iPad Pro, FWIW.

I haven’t decided whether or not to keep it. I don’t really care for the light MagSafe ring, but it’s not terrible.

Thanks for the pics! I had the same white/grey one for the 13 PM.

Does the case feel powdery?

It reminds me of the Apple silicone cases, plus texture from the colored bits. A little powdery, but the last time I had an Apple silicone case, I recall that the “powdery” wore off, like it does on an Apple watch band. I got an elderberry silicone case for my 14 Pro, but haven’t used it yet. They feel very similar to me. but for the textured bits on the Otterbox. Personally, I like the feel.

FWIW, on my screens at least, the color rendering seems more accurate on the Otterbox site than the Apple site, where this seemed closer to white than gray (to my eyes).

Yeh my 13PM one was definitely more white than grey.

Are the edges tight against the phone? The Otterbox Figura I have is amazing but the edges are saggy and when you touch or flip it they just come away from the phone.

The edges seem pretty tight. It took a fair amount of effort to get the case on and off (but not like I thought I was going to break something).

The 14 series Core are much improved over the versions for the 13. Sides and bottom do not pull away from the phone at all.

That’s in relation to the sides being saggy or loose right? Good to hear! Shame they aren’t available in Australia in Jan 2023.

What colour did you get? Can you share some pics? :)

Here's a Blue case on an iPhone 14 Pro in Purple:

Initial impressions are that it's a soft-touch silicon-esque case, but the small confetti plastic bits actually add a bit of texture and grip (or some may say grittiness) to the case. Blue looks a bit like ugly toothpaste, but so ugly it’s cute? I wish it was grippier though. Wish the MagSafe loop was not as visible, but in general the case fits well.

MagSafe connection isn't strong enough to hold a Peak Design Stand Wallet confidently, that's for sure! Pulling out the stand detaches the entire wallet.

^ I wonder if Otterbox cases in general have weaker MagSafe magnets? I had a 14 Pro with Symmetry+ and the magnet strength was noticeably weak (have since changed to 14 Pro Max with Apple Leather case).

If the Funfetti MagSafe strength is weak, I’ll pass on getting the black one.

My only experience is with a Peak Design Everyday Case, Peak Design Wallet, Otterbox case, or no case on the phone.

Feels like no case + wallet is almost the same as Otterbox case + wallet. To me that’s too weak and the wallet could slip off. Having the Peak Design case + wallet combo is another story. It’s almost TOO magnetic!
