"Out of media space" brand new watch, 4gb free...

Brand new Apple Watch 3 (for music usage only)

3.3 / 8 GB Used (as per Screenshot), why can I not sync a 1gb playlist?

I am almost certain that the Media space is limited to 25% of the size of the watch's storage, so if you have 8 GB of storage, then only 2 is available for media (which includes songs, podcasts, and I think photos).

One of the most annoying things about the Apple Watch. I understand that perhaps some space needs to be reserved for system elbow room, updates, etc., but this percentage of total space method is arbitrary and wasteful.
